Reducing carbon emissions and keeping the air clean, free of particulates and NOX, while helping businesses make money by being green, those are the tasks Purify Solutions address every day. Once businesses could refuse to make important changes for the environment because the changes needed to ameliorate it were costly and would harm the business in the short-run. Purify Solutions acknowledges that businesses need economic incentives to make changes, so Purify Solutions offers technology that saves the environment and saves money at the same time. Giving global business what it wants- the ability to do good for the Earth and do well for itself is the only sustainable answer for the environment. Engineering clean air for the health of the planet and its inhabitants starts in a lab, but can end on a balance sheet. The technology Purify deploys on trucks, ships, and power plants generates revenue for its users by capturing and recycling the otherwise wasted energy contained in the exhaust emissions, which are unburned fuel. Economics are now in favor of the Earth.

(How We Started)

Purify Solutions started at Stanford University, when Lincoln Evans-Beauchamp was a graduate student. Lincoln, whose background in power plant design and nuclear engineering, was able to put together two ideas that had never been married before. The result was the technology that is behind every Purify Solutions' solution. The technology Lincoln invented stayed on the drawing board a few years, before Lincoln started producing and testing his technology. One day in early 2006 Lincoln started a fire in an outdoor chiminea in front of his house. The wood and paper he was burning in the pot-bellied fireplace put out thick white smoke, filled with particulate matter that smelled horrible. Lincoln placed his prototype on top of the chimney and waited to see if his device would work. A few minutes later the fire was still producing the same levels of smoke, but out of the chimney no smoke could be seen and no odor detected. Purify Solutions was on its way to market that smokeless afternoon in Palo Alto.

At Purify Solutions, we believe technology is empowering. We look at the personal computers on our desks, in our laps at our children's fingertips and we remember that before this revolutionary technology publishing was in the hands of a few corporations. Knowledge was bound and shelved and accessible through effort. A person's ability to meet other people and network on behalf of a cause was limited to that person's backyard. The information revolution changed all that forever. Next, Purify Solutions wants to shrink-wrap energy saving and environmentally saving devices for consumers, making clean power available for everyone. Change your car, save the environment and save gas. Technology that companies use on a large scale can be made smaller and more accessible for everyone, so the revolution can be in our hands too.

(Where We Are Going)

Purify Solutions currently makes products that have to be installed on engines already in use. Next year, Purify Solutions wants to be integrated into the engine design by the engine manufacturer making the technology more accessible. Purify Solutions sees no need for tens of thousands of coal burning plants all around the world to be spewing highly toxic emissions into the air. Purify Solutions will work with governments around the globe to show what is possible when economic and environmental goals align. Purify Solutions wants to bring business and government together to the table to chart the new course for controlling greenhouse gases. Purify Solutions's foundation will spearhead the alliance between the policy makers and the deal makers, so that this can be the year we turn the tide back on global warming and begin The Green Technology Revolution.

Lincoln speaks to environmental groups, students and trade associations throughout the year, explaining how the convergence of economics and technology is already in place and that businesses and governments can now choose to make significant progress on air pollution and greenhouse gases without sacrificing profits or jobs. Each member of the Purify Solutions team sees herself as an evangelist for the new technology of sound environmental practices and sound business decisions though the next generation of green technology being advanced by Purify Solutions.

(Emblematic Success)

Purify Solutions is committed to engineering technology that is good for the environment and good for business. Trucking companies are the perfect case study for Purify Solutions's double edged technology. Many of the major trucking fleets are on the verge of bankruptcy due to the high cost of fuel today- Up 25% over the last 5 years. Margins for hauling goods across the continent are very small, and additional fuel costs can be punishing. This reality makes the very notion of increasing costs for truckers in order to reduce emissions impossible. If government regulations push up the cost of doing business for American truckers, the business will quite simply move some place else, where the regulations do not exist. Nobody wins in that scenario. The environment is no better off and people loose their jobs. Purify Solutions is able to give truckers a 10 percent reduction in fuel costs, or roughly a $15,000 fuel savings per year. Fuel that is not spent does not turn into CO2, does not turn into a greenhouse gas, plus particulate matter and NOX are drastically reduced. Doing good for the environment while doing well for the bottom line, that is what Purify Solutions's technology brings to businesses today in the age of global warming.
